Assumptions

  • This figure belongs to a 101.6 mm barrel. It is shown because it is the closest measurement that exists, not because it applies here.

Loaded mass

How Loaded mass is calculated

m_loaded = m_empty + m_magazine + n · m_cartridge

Not calculated: m_magazine has no sourced figure yet. Nothing is substituted for a missing input.

Assumptions

  • One magazine, filled to the stated capacity. Spare magazines, optics, slings and lights are the owner’s, not the arm’s.

Free recoil

How Free recoil is calculated

E_recoil = ½ · m_firearm · v_recoil²

Inputs

  • m_firearm3.1 kg6.834 lbverifiedsourceAs published in SNT Motiv's own defence products catalogue.
  • v_recoil0.8647 m/s2.837 fpsestimated

Assumptions

  • Propellant gas momentum is excluded: ARMAG does not record charge weights. This is therefore a lower bound on the real free recoil, consistent between entries but smaller than a figure that includes the gas term.
  • Free recoil: the arm is unrestrained. Stock design, muzzle devices, stance and shooter mass are not modelled, because none of them is a property of the arm.

Sight error at 1 mm

How Sight error at 1 mm is calculated

θ = atan(misalignment / sight radius)

Not calculated: sight radius has no sourced figure yet. Nothing is substituted for a missing input.

Assumptions

  • Shows what a stated aiming error costs. The misalignment is the reader’s figure; the site does not claim how well anyone aims.

Scale

A to-scale outline against family siblings. The dimensions are sourced; the shape is a representative outline for the type, and says so.

  • Daewoo Telecom K7788 mm31.02 inheight not recorded

Representative outline: the dimensions are sourced, the shape is not. Overall length, and barrel length where recorded, are drawn from this entry's own figures; the profile is a generic one for the firearm type and says nothing about this arm's actual contours. Daewoo Telecom K7 records no height, so its outline is drawn at the type's proportion. That height is part of the shape, not a measurement.

Detail

The K7 is an integrally suppressed 9×19mm submachine gun based on the Daewoo K1A, simplified by replacing the K1A’s gas system with a blowback action. The Republic of Korea Army Special Warfare Command asked for it as a cheaper alternative to importing or licence-building the suppressed MP5SD6, and the Agency for Defense Development and Daewoo Telecom developed it between 1998 and 2000, entering production in 2001. Its maker’s name on the type designation is already a fossil: the company has since traded as Daewoo Precision, S&T Daewoo, S&T Motiv and, from 2021, SNT Motiv, while continuing to build the same K-series weapons.

Mechanically the K7 is a straightforward blowback design, distinguished mainly by an integral suppressor built around its short 134 mm barrel, which lets the whole weapon collapse to little more than 600 mm with its stock retracted. It feeds from a proprietary 30-round box magazine, though it is also reported to accept Uzi 30-round and Beretta PM12 32-round magazines. South Korean special forces have been its principal user; the manufacturer’s own catalogue is the only source found for its mass, and no maker document gives a rifling twist rate, sight radius or independently verified cyclic rate for the weapon.

Cyclic rate and effective range on this page are recorded as estimated midpoints of published ranges rather than verified single figures, and overall length, folded length and barrel length come from an uncited Wikipedia infobox figure rather than a primary source.
