The Touareg was Volkswagen’s first proper off-road SUV, launched in 2002 on a platform shared with the original Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7 and sold with engines ranging from a four-cylinder diesel up to a naturally aspirated V10 turbodiesel and a 6.0-litre W12.[1] Volkswagen never sold the third generation in North America, where the larger, cheaper Atlas covered the same ground instead, and the whole Touareg line ended production in March 2026 after three generations and almost 24 years. This catalogue covers all three.
