Revealed in Munich in February 2010, the second Touareg introduced Volkswagen’s “Dynamic Light Assist” (a glare-free high-beam system that continuously reshapes its own beam pattern to avoid dazzling traffic ahead) alongside adaptive cruise control with a full-stop function and a standard eight-speed automatic.[1] A Touareg Hybrid, combining a supercharged V6 with an electric motor for a combined 380 PS, arrived alongside it at Geneva; Volkswagen dropped the diesel V10 entirely for this generation, topping the diesel range instead with a twin-turbo V8.
Three trims are recorded here: the volume 239 PS V6 TDI, the supercharged petrol-electric Hybrid, and the flagship V8 TDI. Every horsepower figure in the source’s engine tables is explicitly given in PS with a kW conversion already computed, so no reading ambiguity applies. The Hybrid’s engine and motor outputs (333 PS and 46 PS individually) do not sum to its 380 PS combined rating, because the two peak at different points in the rev range; only the combined, published figure is recorded.
