About Markey

A free encyclopedia of production cars where every figure is sourced or computed, and every gap is shown as a gap. No account, no ads, nothing to subscribe to, and no server to send anything to.

What makes it different

Anyone has a spec sheet. The difference here is that every number is either sourced or computed, and says which. The site would rather show you a gap than a plausible guess, so a figure nobody has published reads "not yet available" instead of quietly appearing as a number someone made up.

Anything you save, such as a garage, a comparison or a car you built, stays in your own browser or travels in a link you choose to share. There is no server to send it to.

How to read a figure

Every measurement on the site carries one of four confidence marks.

Verified
Taken from a cited source, linked on the page. This is the default, so it carries no badge; the other three do.
Estimated
Calculated or approximated rather than measured, with the basis stated next to the figure: a frontal area derived from width and height, say, rather than published by the manufacturer.
Not yet available
We do not have it. The field is deliberately empty, and the schema itself forbids a placeholder from carrying a number.
Sources disagree
Published sources conflict, and rather than silently picking one, the page says so and explains the conflict.

What this site will not do

  • No generated car imagery. Image models get generation and trim details wrong, which is exactly what this site exists to get right. Every photograph here is a real one, credited to the person who took it.
  • No invented numbers. Not as a placeholder, not to fill a table, not to make a page look finished.
  • No insurance quotes or investment advice. Insurance is personal, actuarial and regulated; a static site cannot responsibly estimate a real premium, so it does not try.

Licence

The site's code and text are published under the KFA Source-Available License 1.0. Photographs and manufacturers' marks are third-party material under their own licences, recorded on each image and summarised on the attributions page. How every calculated figure works is on the methodology page.
