KBP Instrument Design Bureau

KBP Instrument Design Bureau is a Tula-based design house founded in 1927, distinct from the older Tula Arms Plant that shares the city, and today part of the Rostec-owned High Precision Systems holding. Its output spans far beyond small arms — anti-tank guided missiles, autocannons and close-in weapon systems for naval defence are as much its business as rifles and pistols — and its firearms work, including the PP-2000 recorded here, is designed in-house and typically produced under contract at Tula’s other arms plants rather than on KBP’s own factory floor.
