Israel Weapon Industries

The small-arms line that runs from the pre-state Ta’as workshops of 1933 through Israel Military Industries to the privatised company of today. The arms on this site that carry its name were not all made by the same legal entity: the Uzi is IMI’s, and Israel Weapon Industries became a separate company only in 2005, when IMI’s Magen small-arms division was sold. The founding year recorded here is the line’s, not the current company’s, and the distinction matters when reading a date stamp on a receiver.
