Detail
Diemaco (1984) Inc., a division of Héroux-Devtek Inc. based in Kitchener, Ontario, held the Canadian government’s designation as its “centre of excellence for small arms” from 1974 until it was sold and renamed Colt Canada in 2005, without ever being government-owned. Under licence from Colt, it built the C7 and C8 rifle family for the Canadian Armed Forces and for export customers including the Netherlands and Denmark, establishing the AR-15-derived, Diemaco-improved rifle pattern that Colt Canada continues to produce.
