Škoda’s supermini, on sale since 1999 as the replacement for the Felicia and the first Škoda developed jointly with Volkswagen from a clean sheet.[1] It won What Car?’s UK Car of the Year in 2000 and, in its third generation, the outright 2015 What Car? Car of the Year award as well.

This entry covers the first generation (6Y, 1999), home to the Fabia RS (the first hot hatch sold exclusively with a diesel engine and no petrol equivalent), and the third generation (NJ, 2014), which dropped the RS name entirely after weak sales of its predecessor. The second generation (5J, 2007) is a gap in this catalogue.
