Launched in 2012 on the older PF1 platform under a team led by Pierre Authier, the first 208 arrived first as a three-door built at Peugeot’s new Trnava plant in Slovakia, with the five-door following once French production started a few months later.[1] It carried over some four-cylinder engines from the outgoing 207 alongside new three-cylinder units, and its GTi flagship (built around a 1.6-litre turbo shared in detuned form with the Mini Cooper S) was sold in a lower- output standard form and a limited 30th Anniversary edition.
Three trims are recorded here: the mainstream 1.2 VTi, the GTi in its standard 200 PS tune, and the 1.6 e-HDi diesel. Every power figure in the source’s engine tables is explicitly labelled PS, so the conversions here carry no reading ambiguity, unlike several of Peugeot’s earlier B- and C-segment cars.
