Unveiled in July 2021 and the first Astra developed under Stellantis, built on PSA’s EMP2 platform and sharing its underpinnings with the Peugeot 308 and 408.[1] It was the first Astra offered as a hybrid, and later gained a plug-in hybrid GSe performance version and a fully electric variant. This was a wider powertrain spread than any previous generation, reflecting Stellantis’s habit of engineering one platform to take petrol, hybrid, plug-in and battery-electric drivetrains side by side.

This entry records only the base 1.2 Turbo petrol and the plug-in hybrid GSe; the separate all-electric Astra Electric is not authored as a trim here; its 154 hp motor and 54 kWh battery are reported in the article’s prose rather than a structured specification table, and are left for a later pass rather than transcribed loosely from running text.
