The Uno name covers two cars that never overlapped in any market and share almost no parts: the boxy, Giugiaro-styled European supermini that won Car of the Year in 1984 and sold across Europe, Poland and Yugoslavia through 1995, and an unrelated Brazilian city car revived under the same name in 2010 after Fiat retired the “Mille” it had been calling its Brazilian-built Uno descendant since 1990.[1] Between them, the Uno name covers more than 8.8 million cars: the eighth most-produced car platform in history counting the original alone, and considerably more with the Brazilian cars added in.
