Powertrain

A Brazil-only car that reused a retired name rather than continuing a lineage: engineered in Brazil and co-designed with Fiat’s Turin studio, built on the Fiat Palio-derived Economy platform, and never exported to Europe.[1] Both of its flex-fuel engines run on any mix of petrol and ethanol, standard practice for the Brazilian market and one this site’s fuel-economy fields are not built to describe, which is why none are recorded here.

The source states this generation’s two engine outputs only as “74 hp” and “87 hp,” without saying whether that means metric PS or mechanical horsepower. Both readings are within 1.4% of each other, but rather than silently pick one, this entry converts on the metric-PS reading (standard for Brazilian flex-fuel spec sheets) and states the alternative and its size in each figure’s own note.

Source states '74 hp' without specifying metric (PS/cv) or mechanical horsepower. Converted here as metric PS (74 x 0.73549875 = 54.43 kW), the convention Brazilian flex-fuel spec sheets normally use; reading it as mechanical hp instead would give 55.18 kW, about 1.4% higher.
