Chevrolet’s answer to the Ford Mustang, rushed to market on a new F-body platform two and a half years after the Mustang had proven there was a market for an affordable, sporty two-door built on humble mechanicals.[1] Six generations ran from 1966 to 2023, swinging between compact pony car and outright muscle car depending on the decade, before Chevrolet ended production in December 2023 with no direct successor announced.
