Powertrain

The last Camaro, built on GM’s Alpha platform and offered with everything from a turbocharged four-cylinder to a supercharged 6.2-litre V8 shared with the contemporary Corvette Z06.[1] The SS’s naturally aspirated LT1 and the ZL1’s supercharged LT4 are both Corvette engines wearing Camaro badges (the SS shares its unit with the C7 Corvette, the ZL1 with the C7 Z06), carried over rather than developed specifically for this car.

Production ended in December 2023 without a direct replacement, closing out 57 years of Camaro production; Chevrolet has floated an electric successor but had not put one into production as of this entry’s last verification.
