The current, fourth-generation A8 (Typ 4N) launched in 2017 on the MLB evo platform it shares with the Bentley Bentayga, Porsche Cayenne and Lamborghini Urus, and was Audi’s first production car to offer Level 3 conditional autonomy, a feature ultimately cancelled for the US market over legal uncertainty.[1] Unlike the original D2, this article gives no weight figure at all for the D5, in any trim; NHTSA’s Canadian Vehicle Specifications register fills that gap for the 2018 model year rather than leaving it entirely blank, and the note on each affected field says so.

A plug-in hybrid 60 TFSI e is also sold in this generation, but is not recorded as a trim here: the article publishes the engine’s 250 kW and the electric motor’s 100 kW separately, with no manufacturer-stated combined system output, and summing the two peak figures ourselves would be exactly the invented arithmetic this site avoids. The petrol 55 TFSI and mild-hybrid S8 recorded instead both have complete, individually stated figures.
