SEAT was founded in 1950 by Spain’s state industrial holding company, Instituto Nacional de Industria, building Fiat designs under licence for a domestic market that import tariffs had closed off.[1] That arrangement ended in the early 1980s, when Volkswagen took a stake and then full ownership, folding SEAT into the Volkswagen Group as its value-focused Spanish marque. SEAT has since spun off its own performance sub-brand, Cupra, which as of this entry sells alongside SEAT rather than having replaced it.

Nameplates (1)

Computed from every entry that names this brand, never a hand-maintained list. Each nameplate is a hub over its own generations.

Every generation and halo trim from this brand, with the figures each one carries. Sort by any column; a car we have not sourced a figure for sorts last rather than as a zero.

Logo: File:SEAT S.A. logo.svg · Interbrand Studio. Displayed unmodified to identify this manufacturer's own vehicles, editorially and without any suggestion of endorsement or affiliation. Commons records the file as public domain for copyright purposes; the basis for display here is trademark nominative use, not a copyright licence.

Accent colour: Sampled from the badge's own SVG source, which specifies no fill colour on any path and therefore renders in the SVG default of solid black. This is the corporate wordmark logo, not the red 'S' emblem SEAT uses on some cars and marketing; no colour specification for either mark was found, so the mark actually on file is what is recorded rather than the widely recognised red being guessed at.
