Introduced at the 2017 Geneva Motor Show, the fifth Ibiza was the first Volkswagen Group car on the MQB A0 platform, arriving ahead of the Polo, Fabia and A1 that would go on to share it.[1] It grew 87 mm wider than its predecessor despite being 2 mm shorter overall, and it has since been through two facelifts, in 2021 and again in October 2025, the latter adding SEAT’s newer hexagonal grille design.

Every earlier Ibiza generation’s Wikipedia coverage includes a full engine specification table with power and torque for each unit; this generation’s does not, listing only engine families (1.0 TSI, 1.0 TGI, 1.5 TSI, 1.6 TDI) with no figures attached. Two trims are recorded here, the 1.0 TSI petrol and 1.6 TDI diesel, with their power left as an explicit placeholder rather than filled in from a Volkswagen Group rating for a nominally similar engine in another car, which would not necessarily match this one’s actual state of tune.
