Saco Defense

Saco Defense was the Saco, Maine ordnance division of the Maremont Corporation, and was the principal manufacturer of the M60 machine gun for most of its production run. No free source gives a founding date for the division itself, and Wikipedia’s own article on the M60 names Saco Defense as a manufacturer without further biography, so no founding year is recorded here. Production of the M60 family later passed to other contractors, including U.S. Ordnance.
