Military Armament Corporation

Formed in 1970 around one product and one salesman. Gordon Ingram had joined Mitchell WerBell’s suppressor company SIONICS the year before; when a demonstration to the US Army suggested his compact machine pistol might replace the M1911, a group of investors put up the money for a company to build it. The Army did not buy it, the company stopped making firearms in 1973, and it filed for bankruptcy in 1975. Its designs outlived it: the tooling and the name passed through several hands and the pattern is still made.
