Detail
Industrias Trejo de Zacatlán, previously Armas Trejo S.A., is a family gunsmithing firm founded in 1948 in Zacatlán de las Manzanas, Puebla, by Gabriel Trejo and his son Abraham, who had begun building firearms and rifling barrels in secret during the 1940s before his father found out and joined him. The firm’s one product line is the Trejo pistol series of small blowback machine pistols, produced under arms restrictions imposed by the Mexican government until it ceased firearms production in 1971 and turned to work tricycles and agricultural machinery instead. It resumed pistol production in 2010 with updated versions of its original models. No free source publishes an exact closure date for the 1948-1971 period of production, and none independently confirms the company’s structure or ownership beyond what its own Wikipedia article and a handful of enthusiast and trade sources record.
