Fabbrica d'Armi Pietro Beretta

A document of 1526 records a payment to Bartolomeo Beretta of Gardone for arquebus barrels, and the family has been making gun parts in the same valley ever since, which makes this the oldest firearms manufacturer in the world and, by some distance, the oldest company on this site. Sixteen generations later it supplies the sporting-gun market, the Italian and American armies, and, through acquisitions from the late 1980s, Benelli, Franchi and Sako.
