The current Polo, built on Volkswagen’s MQB A0 small-car platform since 2017 and shared underneath with the SEAT Ibiza, Škoda Fabia and Audi A1.[1] It grew again over its predecessor, as every Polo generation has, and now sits close to where the original Golf was sized.

The GTI’s torque is a deliberate gap: the article states its 200 PS power figure clearly but never gives a torque figure anywhere in the text, so none is recorded here rather than carried over from an earlier Polo GTI generation’s number.
