Toyota’s mid-size answer to the Honda Accord, launched in 1982 specifically sized to out-wheelbase it, and for decades the best-selling car in America.[1] Where the Corolla stayed a compact throughout its life, the Camry grew from a narrow-bodied Japanese-market sedan shared with the Toyota Vista into the wide, saloon-only mid-size car sold worldwide today.
