The supermini that turned Peugeot’s fortunes around, on sale from February 1983 to 1999 without ever changing generation.[1] It replaced the ageing 104 and the Talbot Samba, won What Car?’s Car of the Year for 1984, and was later named CAR Magazine’s “car of the decade”, and its GTI derivative is still routinely cited as the car that defined the hot hatch as a category.
This nameplate had only one generation, so the hub-and-generation structure here holds a single entry spanning the whole 1983-1999 run, with the car’s considerable range of trims (from a 954 cc entry hatchback to the Group B homologation-special Turbo 16) recorded as trims within it.
