The original Picanto, revealed at the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show on a shortened version of the Hyundai Getz platform.[1] It launched with a straightforward choice of two petrol engines and, in several markets, a factory bi-fuel petrol/LPG variant of the 1.0-litre engine (genuinely part of the car’s original specification sheet, not an aftermarket conversion), though no power or economy figures specific to that LPG version are given in the source.

Fuel economy for the three main engines is recorded directly from the article’s own combined-consumption figures, without a named test cycle; kerb weight is only published as a range across the whole line-up (836-945 kg), so the lowest figure is recorded at generation level rather than assigned to a specific trim.
