Audi’s Bauhaus-influenced sports coupé ran for twenty-five years and three generations, from 1998 to 2023, before Audi discontinued it with no direct successor.[1] Its rounded, minimal first-generation shape made it an instant design landmark; a series of high-speed accidents also forced a mid-life recall to add a rear spoiler and stability control.

This entry covers the launch 8N generation and the final 8S generation; the 8J generation (2006) in between is not authored here.

Each generation is its own entry, with its own specifications and sources.
