VEB Sachsenring Automobilwerke Zwickau built cars on the site of the former Auto Union/DKW works, inheriting DKW’s two-stroke engine after Auto Union re-established itself in the West as what became Audi.[1] It made essentially one car (the Trabant, in a handful of names) for the whole of East Germany’s existence as a separate state, and stopped within a year of reunification once government subsidy for its labour-intensive production line disappeared.

Accent colour: The badge's own SVG source specifies no fill colour on its single path, which therefore renders at the SVG default of black (#000000). No separate brand-colour specification was published for VEB Sachsenring; the artwork itself is monochrome.
