Detail

Founded on 24 February 1891 in Csepel, now part of Budapest, Fegyver- és Gépgyár (“Arms and Machine Factory”), commonly abbreviated FÉG, produced rifles and pistols for the Austro-Hungarian Army and for export, and made them in the hundreds of thousands between 1914 and 1917. It remained an important Hungarian arms maker, supplying the Honvédség and exporting pistols such as the Frommer Stop and the PA-63, alongside gas equipment, water heaters and other metalware. It was renamed several times over the twentieth century, came under the ownership of MPF Industry Group in 2010, and is now chiefly an exporter of heating products.
