The car Nissan built to retire the Skyline GT-R name entirely: a clean-sheet, all-wheel-drive coupé sold worldwide rather than in the limited markets its predecessors reached, and developed under chief engineer Kazutoshi Mizuno specifically to beat a Porsche 911 Turbo’s Nürburgring lap time.[1] One generation, the R35, ran for eighteen years without ever being replaced; power rose from 480 PS at launch to 600 PS in the Nismo before production finally ended in August 2025.
