Fiat’s Uno replacement, and for a while its most successful supermini ever: three generations between 1993 and 2018, nearly nine million sold, and a European Car of the Year win for the first of them.[1] The name outlived its own relevance rather than dying with it: the third generation was launched in 2005 as the Grande Punto, renamed Punto Evo in 2009, then simply Punto again from 2012, still selling on a chassis over a decade old, until Fiat finally let it go in 2018.

This entry covers the first generation (Type 176) and the second (Type 188), the one this site’s source documents in the most direct and complete detail: a full specification table with metric top speed, 0-100 km/h and combined consumption already in the units this site stores, rather than converted from somewhere else. The Grande Punto/Evo/Punto third generation is not covered separately here.

Each generation is its own entry, with its own specifications and sources.
