The original Sandero, developed on a shortened version of the Logan’s B0 platform and revealed first in Brazil in December 2007, as a Renault, the first Renault model ever launched outside Europe before its own model line.[1] Its European Dacia debut followed at the 2008 Geneva Motor Show.

Five engines are recorded here, including a genuine factory bi-fuel version of the 1.4-litre petrol engine running on LPG. This is a detail this catalogue otherwise has few examples of. Every power figure is published in PS and converted here at the standard metric rate; kerb weight and dimensions are each published as ranges spanning the plain hatchback and the raised- suspension Stepway together, so the lowest figure in each range is recorded at generation level rather than assigned to a specific trim.
