America’s one continuously produced sports car: a front-engine, rear-drive roadster in 1953 that GM’s own management nearly cancelled after two slow years, kept alive by a V8 engine, and eventually turned, seven generations and 67 years later, into a mid-engined car built to fight Ferraris and Porsches on price.[1] It has never been sold as anything other than a Chevrolet, and never stopped being built in the United States.

Generations

Each generation is its own entry, with its own specifications and sources.
