BMW’s answer to the question of what a plug-in hybrid sports car could be rather than merely an efficient one: a carbon-fibre passenger cell, a three-cylinder petrol engine driving the rear wheels, and an electric motor driving the front, styled almost unchanged from the 2009 Vision EfficientDynamics concept.[1] It sold for one generation, 2014 to 2020, as a coupé and later a roadster, and BMW has not built a direct successor.
Generations
Each generation is its own entry, with its own specifications and sources.
