Audi’s mid-size executive saloon, sold under that name since 1994 but really the fourth generation of a lineage that started as the Audi 100.[1] The 1994 rename was cosmetic: a facelifted Audi 100 (C4) given new lights, a new grille and Audi’s new alphanumeric badge, timed to match the launch of the flagship A8. Markey covers that first badged generation, the C4, and the fifth, the C8 of 2018, the most recent complete generation catalogued on Wikipedia at the time of writing, with the C9 that followed it in 2025 not yet built out here.
