Founded in 1945 as Tata Engineering and Locomotive Co. (TELCO), building trucks and locomotives long before it built a passenger car. The maker of the Nano is the same company that, in the same decade, bought Jaguar and Land Rover from Ford.[1] It traded as Tata Motors Limited for most of its life; a 2025 corporate restructuring renamed the passenger-car business Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Limited and split the commercial-vehicle side off separately.

Commons records the file as public domain for copyright purposes with an explicit 'trademarked' restriction; the basis for display here is trademark nominative use, not a copyright licence.
Accent colour: Sampled directly from the fill colour (#1467b3) used consistently across every path in the brand's own wordmark SVG on Commons. Tata does not publish a public brand-colour specification, so the badge artwork is the only self-consistent source. This is the same method the Mini entry uses.
