DeLorean Motor Company existed for barely seven years, founded in 1975 by former General Motors executive John DeLorean and gone into receivership by October 1982, having built one car.[1] That car, the stainless-steel DMC-12, was assembled in a purpose-built factory in Dunmurry, Northern Ireland, funded substantially by the British government as a job-creation scheme, a deal that unravelled along with the company after John DeLorean’s arrest on drug-trafficking charges in October 1982, of which he was later acquitted. The DMC-12 would have been a footnote had Robert Zemeckis not cast one as a time machine three years later.

Accent colour: Sampled from the badge's own SVG source, whose single background rectangle is filled solid black (#000000), matching the real DMC badge, which is a black plate on the DeLorean's brushed-stainless bodywork. No separate published brand colour exists for a company that built and sold cars for barely a year and a half.
