Powertrain

The seventh generation, launched in 2023 and still, alone among its contemporaries, sold with a naturally aspirated V8 and a manual gearbox as factory options.[1] It remains front-engine and rear-drive, the same basic recipe as the 1964 original.

The GT’s headline power figure is genuinely market- and options-dependent rather than one universal number: Europe’s GT is rated at 448 hp, the base US GT at 480 hp, and the US GT with the optional active exhaust at 486 hp. That is the same engine with three different certified outputs, and the entry records the active-exhaust figure specifically rather than picking one and calling it “the GT.”
